Good Bye Pleasure Island

Disney World has announced that Pleasure Island will be closing for good. The clubs that are in that area will be closed. No new plans for what will fill that area have been announced.

For some time Pleasure Island has not been a good fit between the two sides of Downtown Disney. During the day its a pain to walk through it. It would be nice to see something in that area.

Pirates of the Caribbean Closed For Rehab

Pirates of the Caribbean in the Magic Kingdom is closed until June 18th for rehab. All appears normal on the outside with Cast Members letting guests know it is down along with a sign. No external construction walls are present.

Haunted Mansion Closed for Rehab

The Disney World version of the Haunted Mansion is now closed for refurbishment. It will open some time in the fall.

Rumors say that some of the Disneyland Haunted Mansion upgrades that were done a little while ago will be made at Disney World.

There is now a big fence with a door across the queue entrance along with a sign.

Laugh Floor Review

The Laugh Floor in Disney Worlds Magic Kingdom is terrific.   We did it twice over a couple different days and my wife got picked twice as one of the people they have fun with.

It fun for all ages.   Its a pretty quick line and the show goes fast.   If you don't like to be pointed out on the screen make sure to not sit near the middle isle.

Disney World did a good job of using the old Timekeeper space.   Although I'm not a big fan of using cartoons in Tomorrowland but this one is one that fits.

Laugh Floor Comedy Club looses the Comedy Club Name

The new Tomorrowland attraction Laugh Floor Comedy Club has been renamed to just the Laugh Floor. The signage now reflects the change. It appears the Magic Kingdoms newest attraction is set for opening soon. Rumors say that no real change to the show has resulted from the name change just the loss of the Comedy Club part of the name.

With the addition of Monsters Inc to Tomorrowland the Magic Kingdom is getting another good animated group of characters.

Tear Down of Contemporary North Wing

It looks like the rumors about a possible new construction at the Contemporary Resort looks like is true. Disney World is in the process of tearing down the old North Wing of the Contemporary Resort. The North Wing was seperate bulding from the main part that the Monorails go through. It is a rumor that construction of a tower will start after the land is cleared. This also may pave the way for a Disney Vacation Club location in the Contemporary.

Pirates of the Caribbean Ride Opens Along with a Fantastic Movie

All you Pirates of the Caribbean fans got your wish this weekend with the release of the new Pirates of the Caribbean Movie Dead Mans Chest.   It is an action packed two and half hours. It features all the great characters from the first movie with some new ones.

Be Warned!!!! This is NOT a young kids movie.   Which I found to be very very upsetting. As a huge Pirates fan myself I found they could have cut 2 scenes of about 5 seconds each and that would have pretty much cleared up my issues. There is a one part of the movie where Davey Jones orders a person killed.   The pirate walks up cuts the guys throat. They don't show blood all over but pretty close to it.   There is another scene where Davey Jones orders all survivors killed. They hatchet them and you can see that hatchets fall and the sounds. They stop short of showing the blades do there things but it was still disturbing.   A more creative cut could have given the same effect.

Just wanted to put that out there for parents planning on taking young kids.   It has a PG-13 rating for a reason. I think thats pretty much it.   The film is much darker than the last movie.
